Jane has enjoyed
a successful career in the real estate industry since 1973.
After graduation from the University
of California at Berkley
she began her career in San Francisco
as a principal of TRI Brokers. In 1983 she transferred to Pacific Union Company
and continued as a top producer of their Marina
office in San Francisco. In 1989 she married Ray Garassino, Vice President
and Treasurer for Robert Mondavi Winery and moved her practice to
St. Helena, where she began specializing
in Vineyards, Estates and Wineries. She and business partner Chuck Sawday assisted
in opening the St. Helena office for Pacific
Union Co. in 1997. Jane is
on the Board of Directors for both the Napa Valley Opera House and
German Shorthair Pointer Rescue.
Chuck is a second
generation California Realtor with his roots centered in Agriculture,
which makes the Napa Valley
lifestyle a natural for understanding his client’s needs.
Chuck graduated from Cal- Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree
in Agricultural Business and married his wife Jean.
He began selling real estate in San
Diego County
in 1971 for his own company. After
moving to the Napa Valley
in 1983 Chuck opened the Sawday Company on Main
Street in St. Helena
before teaming up with Jane in 1997 and opening the Pacific Union
Office. His daughter Amy is now a Broker with Pacific
Union in St. Helena as well.
After starting the St.
Helena office of Pacific Union Jane and Chuck began
focusing their business on estate homes, vineyard land and wineries.
They work primarily on referral basis from past clients and
other brokers who consider them to be the top in their field.
In 2001 Philippa Ward came on as an associate to complete
their team and now holds a Brokers license and supports them in
all of their transactions.
Pacific Union, now
owned by GMAC Real Estate Services, has honored this team as one
of the Highest Producing Teams, ranking number 3 in 2002 and 2nd
in 2003 nationally out of over 22,000 agents and 1,300 offices.
